Job Interview Mistakes
Friday, August 8, 2014Today on Lets Get Working I’d like to share some tips I’ve recently read in an article.
The link for the article can be found at this link: https://www.linkedin.com/today/post/article/20140705055830-52594-the-five-deadliest-job-interview-mistakes.
The article discusses the five deadliest job interview mistakes!
1. Not doing your homework about the business - know what the business does and who their customers are is really important.
2.Not having any questions to ask - its important to interview them as well in order to know that they are a good fit for you. The best questions are those that come about throughout the interview.
3. Don’t go silent after answering their question - You need to answer in a conversational kind of way and you need to say something that makes you memorable. The robotic ‘right’ answer will not cut it.
4. Make sure you learn something before you leave the interview - keep your brain and the interviewers brain active by asking about something you have not known about before. It may be software that keeps coming up in the conversation or how a procedure is done.
5. Don’t grovel - no begging for the job or telling them you’ll do anything to get this job. The truth is, you wouldn’t and you shouldn’t!
Until next time,
Enjoy the journey!
Martha!
