Networking
Friday, July 4, 2014Today on Lets Get Working I’d like to share with you the importance of Networking.
80% of jobs are found through word of mouth. As the saying goes, ‘its not what you know, its who you know’.
There are many ways you can network:
Tell all your family or friends you are looking for a job and see if there are any vacancies you can apply for where they work.Advertise on Gumtree, Facebook or any other social media, that you are looking for a job.Let the place where you are perhaps volunteering, that you are looking for a job.Share with your social clubs that you are wanting workShare with the shops you frequent, and also your vet and doctor. The more people that know you are looking for work, the greater the chance something will come up. You will also need to keep reminding them that you are looking.
You may even think about making up some cards with your name and phone number and what kind of work you are looking for to pass around to those that you know in case they can pass on your details to someone else who has a job for you.
In summary, tell the world you are looking for a job… the more people know, the better chance of getting a call.
Until next time,
Enjoy the journey!
Martha!
