Overcoming Obstacles
Friday, October 18, 2013Today on Lets Get Working I’d like to discuss Overcoming Obstacles.
Here are some tips to help you along your way.
1. Seek advice from others – some people may have experienced job hunting a lot more than you have, so it is important to listen to their tips on how to go about job hunting and interviews, etc.
2. Invest in improvement – you may need to do a course to improve your skill set or buy some new clothes or get a hair cut to improve your appearance. See what you need to do to improve yourself.
3. Share your ideas – by sharing your job seeking resources with others and vice versa you can broaden your opportunity to getting a job.
4. Accept the problems and look for a solution – don’t blame other people for not having a job, accept full responsibility and work on overcoming your problems with smart solutions.
5. Always give 100% - when you send a resume and cover letter check the spelling and have someone else look over it for you. When you speak on the phone or attend an interview, make sure you are at your best in the way you dress and speak with others.
6. Be enthusiastic – looking for a job can be tedious, depressing and boring, however, if you keep things fresh and stay enthusiastic you will do better at finding a job and results will follow.
7. Anything is possible – stretch yourself, dream big, be accountable and strive for excellence. Do your research and give every chance a good go towards find that dream job.
And remember…never, ever, give up!
Until next time,
Enjoy the journey!
